Landscaping requires a certain degree of inspiration and skills, and more than anything, it needs immense perseverance. Watching a seed you sowed years ago grow into a full-size tree is a feeling that nothing else can match. But, keeping it manured and watered through the years requires patience and hard work. If you are lucky to have a fairly large patch as the backyard of your home, here are some ideas that can bear fruit in your landscaping pursuit.
Please keep in mind the décor and ambience of your home, when you start your project.
A Wine Country Yard
This will need more hard work than regular gardening. In fact, you will need a selection of flower and fruit trees in particular that goes with this style. With this, you will have a very lush garden and limited strolling space. It comprises rosemary, lavender and irises. You can, however, grow any fruit trees you want, depending on the weather patterns. But with all the greenery, you will have little space for a garden party. If you love a kaleidoscopic array of flowers and fruits with enchanting aroma, if you love to graze by the thick foliage and shades of green, this is for you. If you prefer large open spaces for parties and games, you need a different style.
The Garden Steps
A great way to break the monotonous uniformity of gardens is to add a flight of steps that leads up to the porch of the house. However, the garden steps should not have the same dimensions as regular steps. Garden steps are better flat and best if carved in stone. The steps make room for grass planters and shrubbery on the sides for a wonderful aesthetic feel.
Boxwood Hedges and Winding Path
Garden enthusiasts are obsessed with the idea of winding garden paths, and it’s for a sound reason. The aesthetic outcome of the combination is simply marvelous and almost nothing can beat that. Sow a line of boxwood hedges on both sides of the path and remember to round them off to make the curves of the path more pronounced. Lay the path with gravels and pebbles for visual grandeur, but try to keep it leveled. When all is set well, your garden will look nothing less than a still from a picture book.
Fountains and Boxwoods
The beauty of boxwood shrubs is that they enhance the beauty of anything they are lined around. A garden fountain is a fine idea and adding a line of boxwoods that encircle the bowl of the fountain is an even better idea. Do not go for an elaborate fountain for the reasons of price and visual excess. Instead, stick to the petite ones that are carved in granite for a more agreeable garden décor.
Vine Blooms
Vines and creepers have a wonderful quaint feel about them. Try the oak-leaf blooms for your garden, and you will never want to have another variety for your space. Actually, go ahead and match them with the lady’s mantle bloom. A garden beset with vines and creepers make the best host for a romantic evening and an al fresco candle-lit dinner.
