Three reasons why you should not take UPSEE lightly

Well, there is a certain perception in the students that if they prepare well enough for JEE-Mains/Advanced they will fair well in the state university entrance exam, UPSEE in this case. But that is not true. In most of the cases, students end up scoring average marks. Each exam is different from the other and needs a certain level of preparation. If students concentrate and correctly strategize their preparation for the UPSEE it is not very tough to perform in UPSEE.

UPSEE is the gateway to some top colleges of the country

No doubt that IITs top the list of the best engineering colleges in the country. But there are many good government and non-government colleges other than IITs. UPSEE also intake students for some top colleges such as

  • HBTI, Kanpur
  • IET, Lucknow
  • KNIT, Sultanpur etc.

The list does not stop here there are many good private colleges as well. These colleges not only have very good faculty but also have a very good placement record. Students getting into these colleges can stay assured of successful future ahead. Companies visit colleges such as HBTI and IET and do not hesitate to pay students in the bracket of 8 lakhs/p.a to 10 lakhs/p.a.

UPSEE is a perfect exam to crack with the preparation level of the 12th standard

Now it does not mean that you can crack it without any preparation. Any competitive exam becomes tough not by the difficulty level of its exam paper but by the number of students appearing in the exam. And UPSEE no doubt has one of the highest numbers of applicants in the country. More than 1.7 lakhs students had appeared in UPSEE-2018. But if you can keep the focus, and strategize in a correct manner success in UPSEE is inevitable. The pattern of the exam is straightforward. There are 150 questions equally divided into three subjects -> Physics, chemistry and Maths. Students have to complete the test within the stipulated time. There is no negative marking.

For those who are residents of U.P have an edge

UPSEE opens it 10% seats only for those who are not the residents of the state of U.P. Rest 90% seats are for the people having domicile of U.P hence the competition become little easy when compared to JEE-Mains/Advanced/BITSAT etc. That’s why the residents of U.P have an edge in UPSEE over the non-residents.

Uttar Pradesh State Entrance exam is conducted by AKTU previously known as UPTU(Uttar Pradesh Technical University). AKTU(APJ Abdul Kalam University) got its name in honor and memories of the Late President ABJ Abdul Kalam. AKTU has formed a body called CAB(Central Admission Body) which is responsible for UPSEE. The AKTU conducts UPSEE in the month of April. Students who are appearing in intermediate can finish their Board exams and post that prepare for UPSEE. So research the colleges analyze the pattern then strategize your preparation and clear the exam. UPSEE is the gateway to some very good colleges.
